Vikings

Lately, in my viking research, I am noticing many settlers left their homelands for Iceland because of certain manslaughters, killings and/or murders.  I also just came across a passage referencing human sacrifice.

Hjorleif went harrying in Ireland.  He found a large underground house and entered it.  All was dark until light shone from a sword in a man's hand.  Leif killed the man and took the sword along with great riches.  After this he was known as Hjorleif, Sword-Leif.
Was this underground house the Shi? Did Leif enter the land of Faery?  Could this sword be that mystical sword known as Kozlov?
